Sunday School will begin next Sunday,  September 12 at 9:10am in the school. All children from prek-8th grade are invited to come and learn about their Savior. Sunday School will take place during our educational hour, 9:10am-9:45am. No need to preregister. We will have forms on the first day.

New Sunday Bible Class starting September 12th
Our new Sunday Bible Class time begins around 9:10. We plan to use the series The Life of David. We will look at  events in David’s life and connect them to our lives. The Lord uses David’s strengths and weaknesses to teach his church. From David killing Goliath to David being overcome by temptation, we can see images of ourselves and learn how God deals justly with those he loves

Monday / Wednesday Bible Class is starting September 13
It has been said often over the last year and a half that we live in strange and difficult times.  In all honesty, ever since the fall into sin that’s been the case.  Hopefully, our next Bible Class can help us deal with living in such times.  We will work through the two letters of the Apostle Paul to the Thessalonians, under a heading:  “Encouragement and Guidance for Christians Living in Difficult Times and Places.”  We will meet Mondays at 7:00 p.m. and Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m. (same lesson at each) in the church basement.  Please join us!

7th & 8th Grade Public School Catechism Classes will be conducted Wednesdays only, 3:30-4:45pm at St. Stephen’s in the basement. Classes begin Wednesday, September 8.

5th & 6th Grade Public School Catechism Classes will begin September 9, 3:30pm-4:45pm, at Good Shepherd. This is a new class this year. We are hoping to lay a firm foundation for when students get into 7th-8th grade. Pastor Reichert will lead these classes.  Questions? Call Pastor Dorn (631-7028) or Stratman (885-6960). If a student has special needs and would benefit with individual classes, the pastors are more than willing to arrange a schedule that works for everyone

Free TV’s  There are 2 televisions in the church basement for anyone who has a use for them.  First come, first serve.

Lutheran Teens will be going to Knuckleheads on Saturday, September 11. Cost is $25 per person. This includes the trampoline park, go-karts, bumper cars, and lunch. More information and a sign-up are in the entryway. Parents are welcome to drive and partake in the activities. Students in 7th-12th grades are invited to join this group for events, Bible study, and service opportunities.

Mark your calendars!  Mission Fest Sunday
On the weekend of October 3, we will celebrate Mission Fest.  The Senior Assistant (a Senior at the Seminary), Tommy Welch, from St. John’s Juneau, Horicon, and Salem-Lowell, will be our guest preacher.  After our 10:00 AM service, we will have a potluck lunch followed by a presentation.  Tommy Welch will speak about his vicar experience in Asheville, NC, a home mission congregation. Please join us on this special day!

OWLS Gathering  All seniors are invited on Tuesday, September 14th, to St. Stephen’s of Beaver Dam.  There will be a potluck meal at noon in the church basement.  After the devotion, we will hear Pastor Phil Henselin.  He serves as the head of Institutional Ministries. This WELS group, formerly known as Wisconsin Lutheran Institutional Ministries, (WLIM) sends chaplains to prisons and hospitals.  All are invited!

Radio Service Recording  A simple way to serve our Lord and some of his people is to be part of the “radio congregation” for our Sunday radio service on WBEV 1430AM.  On the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month (Sept-March) we meet for a little over an hour to record two 30 minute services.  Our first recording session of this season will be Tuesday, September 14.  We meet at 7:00 P.M. in the church.  Ramp door will be open.

LWMS Door Offering will be collected at the door the next 2 weekends, September 12th and 19th after services.  These offerings support special WELS mission projects chosen annually by our LWMS Beaver Dam Circuit.  This year’s Current Home Mission Project:
Family Ministry Outreach.  Home mission congregations hope to draw in new people from community and serve their spiritual needs. Family ministry programs are being developed to help in this endeavor.  This year’s Current World Mission Project:
Central Africa Medical Mission (CAMM).  CAMM oversees a permanent clinic called the Lutheran Mission Rural Health Centre in Zambia on the same property as one of the Lutheran churches in central Africa.
