Baptism Violet Ann Nazeen Zuber, daughter of Josue and Karrissa (Burmester) Zuber, born August 14, 2019, was baptized last Saturday.  Riley Jean Burmester, daughter of Michael and Amy (Cieslak) Burmester, born June 20, 2016, was also baptized last Saturday.  Madysen Grace Bruins, daughter of Jacob and Myah (Schlegel) Bruins, born July 18, 2018, will be baptized during the Thursday night service this week.

LWMS Door Offering will be collected at the door after services this weekend and next weekend, September 22^nd.  These offerings support special WELS mission projects chosen annually by our LWMS Beaver Dam Circuit.  The Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society Fall Rally will be held on Saturday, October 19^th, at Zion church in Columbus.  Registration is at 9:45 am and the day will conclude at 2:30pm.

Bible Studies

• Women’s Bible Study Group meets on Wednesday nights at 6pm. Copies of the study are available in the church entry and at study time. All women of the congregation are welcome.
• Men’s Bible Study meets on Sunday nights at 6:30pm in the meeting room above church office. All men are welcomed and encouraged to join.
• Fall Bible Study “God’s Grace Learned Through Hard Lessons”. This study will be an overview of the book of Numbers. When hard times come, we can easily give up and feel like God is not with us. However, we will see the rich grace of God given to his people even during very difficult times. We will meet Mondays at 7:00pm and Wednesdays at 11:00am.

“Welcome Home” Sunday On October 27, we will be having a special Welcome Home Sunday. Our goal is to have 100% of our members in church on this special day. Please reserve this day on your calendars. We will also be having our 2nd annual Fall Festival on that day. Hope to see all of you there.

Women’s Leadership Conference Join us at the Women’s Leadership Conference “Gifted to Lead: Growing in Your Gifts” on Saturday, October 19, 2019, from 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee. To ensure you receive all conference materials, register by September 15, 2019. Final registration: October 4, 2019.

Prayer Service will be held on Friday, September 20^th at 1:30pm. The service will include a short Scripture reading and devotion that is focused on sharing and bringing concerns to the Lord in prayer. The ramp and elevator entrances will be open.

Altar Guild has its organizational meeting Monday, October 7 at 6:00pm. New people are most welcome to join us as we plan for decorating and our altar/communion duties for Fall and Winter. Some altar guild members are retiring this year, so new helpers are most welcome.

At Peace? A Retreat for Women, held at Peace Lutheran in Loves Park, IL will offer their 11^th annual one day retreat Saturday, October 5^th.  This year’s theme is “Salt & Light”.  Keynote speaker will be Katie Martin, author of devotions and articles that point to God’s amazing love.  There will also be five workshops offered.  Check out www.peacelp.com for more info and to register.

St. Stephen’s PTS will be hosting a movie night on Friday, Sept. 20, 2019 starting at 6:30 p.m.  We will be watching “The Secret Life of Pets 2”.  All are welcome!

LPS Presentation will be on Friday, September 27^th at 8:30am in the church.  The presentation is catered for the grade school students, but all people will enjoy this informative and entertaining presentation.  Luther Preparatory School is a high school owned and operated by the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). Located in Watertown, WI, Luther Prep exists to encourage, prepare, and train its students to serve God as a pastor or teacher in the WELS.

St. Stephen’s Lutheran Teens will be going to Knuckleheads on September 21. Information is on the table in the entry

Lutheran Explorers will kick off with a pot luck lunch today, starting at noon. Explorers are changing their focus this year. They will be doing more family activities. This is open for all families. We want to strengthen our bonds with each other. This month bring a dish to pass and enjoy fellowship with fellow believers. We will also speak about the “new look” Explorers. In October, we will go hiking at Horicon Marsh. Please join us!
