Baptism   Isaiah Gabriel, son of Richard & Justine (Jach) Banker was baptized on Saturday here at St. Stephen’s.   Mackinley Jo, daughter of Matthew & Kaitlyn (Mack) Rechek will be baptized after the Sunday service this week.  Benjamin James, son of Joshua & Katie (Visser) Heyer will be baptized after the Sunday service this week.

Funeral   Sharon Mallon was called home to heaven on April 29, 2022, age 81.  A private graveside funeral service was held May 5, 2022.

Memorials   In memory of Betty Wodill, a gift has been given to the Radio fund by a friend.

Bible Studies

• Monday / Wednesday Bible Study We wrapped up our study of the book of Joshua last week, so the Monday / Wednesday Study will recess for the Summer months, to resume after Labor Day.  Be sure to take advantage of the Sunday study, which will continue through the Summer.
• Sunday Bible Class – “Pray, Praise, and Give Thanks: Favorite Psalms of God’s People”
  This Bible study meets on Sunday mornings at 9:10 in the church basement.  “Pray, Praise, and Give Thanks:  Favorite Psalms of God’s People” is a study of nine of the best known and loved Psalms.  Please join us!  Coffee, juice, and treats are served, too!

St John’s, Watertown, is seeking a full-time childcare supervisor.  Duties include planning, maintaining, and supervising appropriate activities for a variety of age groups of children; maintaining attendance and billing records; ensuring compliance of established policies by students, parents, and staff; ensuring adequate supervision of all rooms/groups; maintaining family communication; and promoting the Christ-centered mission of St. John’s.
Associate Degree in early childhood education is preferred, along with applicable work and supervisory experience. The ability to communicate effectively, encourage staff, maintain a positive attitude, prioritize, multi‐task, be highly organized, detail oriented, and able to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision are highly desired.  Interested candidates should submit a resume to principal@stjohnswatertown.org, or drop off or mail to the school office at 317 North 6th St. Watertown.  Thank you.

MLC Job Openings:  Martin Luther College is now accepting applications for the positions of Administrative Assistant for Academic Deans, Human Resources Assistant, Resource Development Manager, Baseball Assistant Coach, Volleyball Assistant Coach, and Men’s Basketball Assistant Coaches. A New Bible Information Class is planned for this summer, beginning the second week of June.  This is a 14-15 session study of Bible teachings; a way to join our congregation or a great review the truths you may have learned in Catechism Class many years ago.  Speak with one of the Pastors if you are interested or know someone who might be.

The Festival of the Ascension of our Lord Jesus is Thursday, May 26 (40 days after Easter).

There will be a special service that evening at 6:30 which will involve our choirs.

Beaver Dam Area WELS Seniors  Area Seniors are welcome to St. Stephen’s of Beaver Dam  on Tuesday, May 10th.  There will be a noon potluck dinner in the church basement.  After a devotion by an area pastor, a short presentation will be given about “Home Instead.”  The main presenter will be Becky Weidner.  Becky runs “The Workshop” in downtown Columbus.  She will talk about “Arts & Crafts.”  All seniors are invited to come and bring a friend!

PTS Awards Night will be Monday night, May 16^th at 6:00pm.  The junior choir/band will perform and awards will be given for extracurricular activities done throughout the school year.

Piano Recital will be held at St. Stephen’s church on Monday, May 23^rd at 6:00pm.  Everyone is welcome to attend this event..

End of Year Band Concert will be at St. Stephen’s gym on Tuesday, May 17th at 6:30pm.  Everyone is welcome to attend this event.!

Spirit Pump Support  Jerry’s Automotive/BP, 700 N Spring St.  (Across from Beaver Dam Food Pride) has a Spirit pump.  When patrons use this pump for gas, Jerry’s donates 2 cents per gallon to a school in Beaver Dam.  The owners of Jerry’s have decided to give the proceeds from this pump to St. Stephen’s school during the month of MAY.  Please consider filling your gas tank in the month of May at Jerry’s at the Spirit pump.
