Welcome Visitors If you are visiting today, we welcome you in our Risen and Living Savior, Jesus!

  • Please let us know you worshiped with us by introducing yourself to a Pastor.
  • If visiting, please don’t feel obligated to give an offering. St. Stephen’s members express thankfulness to God through their voluntary offerings which then support the congregation’s work.

Bible Studies

  • Sunday Bible Class This Bible study meets on Sunday mornings at 9:10 in the church basement. We finished our study “Pray, Praise, and Give Thanks”, a study of nine well-known and loved Psalms.  A new study will begin next Sunday.  Please join us.  Coffee, juice and snacks are also part of our time together around God’s Word.

Guest Preacher   Seminarian Malachi Mortensen, is preaching the sermon in worship this weekend. Malachi just finished his “Junior” (first) year of study for the Pastoral ministry at our Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon.  A freewill offering will be taken to show our encouragement and thanks for bringing the message to us this week.

Summer Financial Stewardship / Ministry Support Update Every monetary offering to our Lord in support of his ministry at St. Stephen’s is a miracle.  They are loving responses to God’s grace to us in Jesus. We rejoice over such love and faithful support of St. Stephen’s! Summer always proves to be a lean time financially for our church, mostly due to vacations resulting in inconsistent attendance and offerings.  At the end of June, our expenses have exceeded our income so that we have a negative balance of $59,894.07 in our General Fund.  What does this mean for the Lords’ work we want to do here?  It means that at some point, our Church Council may determine that the church will need to take a loan to cover general fund expenses. In these days ahead, please consider how greatly God has blessed you – forgiveness, eternal life, family, material blessings, and more – and in faith in his promises increase our gifts for support of this ministry.

Spirit Pump proceeds totaling over $500 were received from the owners of Jerry’s Automotive/BP here in Beaver Dam.  A matching donation was also given for a total of $1,003.26.  These funds will be used for various improvements in our school.  Thank you to all who stopped by and contributed to this cause.

Craft/Bakery Sale for the Branch Lutheran Schools of Haiti  Peace Lutheran Church in Hartford is requesting homemade crafts, new saleable items, and bakery treats for a sale they will be hosting in October.  Please contact Edie Ash at richardash46@gmail.com or 507-217-1721 if you are able to contribute.

Beaver Dam Area WELS Seniors Picnic is Tuesday, July 12th.  The location is at Waterworks Park on the north side of Beaver Dam, right down the street from Good Shepherd. We will have a potluck meal at noon. After a devotion, WELS Pastor Michael Duncan will speak about our new WELS Mission in Bangladesh. Come and learn about God’s Word reaching far away places.  In case of bad weather, we will go to St. Stephen’s church basement. All those 55 and older are invited.
