To God’s people at St. Stephen’s Lutheran,
Greetings in Jesus’ name! I am writing you today to acknowledge that I have received a Divine
Call from you to serve as an associate pastor at your congregation. This is a humbling
experience to be called to serve God’s people; I know that it is only his grace and mercy that
allows me to serve in this way. This is also a time for me to pray to God for guidance and to
engage in discussion to figure out which of my two calls I will serve—my current call to Good
Shepherd Lutheran in Burnsville, Minnesota, or this new call to St. Stephen’s.
Please keep me and my family in your prayers as I make this decision. I will also be keeping your
whole congregation in my prayers. God’s promises to me are a great comfort: I know he will be
with me and both congregations involved, and I know he will provide the pastors needed to do
the work of his kingdom. For this, I rejoice, and I look forward to see what God will do for St.
Stephen’s and for Good Shepherd.
God’s richest blessings be with you all.
In Jesus’ name,
Pastor Dan Walters
