Pursue

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

Philippians 3:12

Mission offering:
We are collecting offerings for LLHS OpGo.  Our goal is $500.00.  We have collected $202.30 so far.  This is 40.4% of our total goal.  Last week was a misprint, there was only $113.30, not $130.30.  Let the Lord of Life guide us as we support this mission.  Please look for envelopes to come home with children.

Picture Day:
Picture day is tomorrow, Monday, September 22.  Order forms should have been sent home in the beginning of September and Lifetouch should be sending you emails about pathways to order.  If you need help, please contact Mr. Schulz ASAP.
Online orders can be placed at www.mylifetouch.com

Parent/Teacher Conferences:
We are trying something new with P/T conferences this year to help get the conversations started earlier.  We will take feedback from this process after P/T conferences are finished.  To accommodate the school year, we are only offering conferences on 2 days after school.  If you cannot fit a meeting in on these two days, please talk with your child’s teachers and set up a time that will work.  K-4 parents, please find the appropriate teacher and time you desire.  5-8 parents, please sign up for a 1/2 hour window when you would be in the building.  During that time you could see 1, 2, or 3 teachers during that 1/2 hour.  Please try to arrive near the beginning of the time slot you have chosen.  If you do not sign up for a slot, the teachers will reach out and hopefully set up a time to come and chat.  These visits are very important as we look at the education of your child.  Schedules may need to change based on how parents are signed up.  Please sign up no later than September 29.  The links are found at the top of the page under the important link section.

Pizza Ranch Fundraiser:
On Monday, September 29th from 4-8pm, Good Shepherd Preschool is hosting a Community Impact Fundraising Event at Pizza Ranch in Beaver Dam. Attendees will be able to eat supper, buy gift cards, and support our preschool as we raise funds for new playground equipment, new classroom manipulatives, and other facilities improvements.

Playground/Bleacher update:
As of September 4, the playground structure and work done there has been paid for.  There was $13,000 in extra expenses that we were not anticipating for this phase.  We will be raising funds to set that balance even and then start to raise funds for the next phase of the playground which would include a climber, a spinner, and possibly some monkey bars.  The bleacher expense went up, so we are now raising funds to total $35,000 so we can have new bleachers in the gymnasium that all will be able to enjoy.  Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make these things happen.  We have a long way to go, but we will get there eventually.

St. Stephen’s School Mission:
St. Stephen’s Lutheran School will offer a Christ-centered education to all students. We will instruct them in the Word of God, educate them in secular subjects, train them to become responsible citizens in our community, and prepare them for their eternal victory in heaven when they die. We will do this by holding Jesus and his love before them each day by appropriately using law and gospel as we instruct and discipline.

Please remember that if you need assistance with anything that you can reach out to the teachers and leaders of St. Stephen’s.  You can also find answers to some questions on the website: www.ssbdwels.com
