God Word is impressed at the end of day.

Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.
Psalm 46:10

Encouragement Passage:
When I said, “My foot has slipped,” your mercy, Lord, upheld me.
When my worries within me were many, your comfort brought joy to my soul.
Psalm 94:18-19

Parent conversations: How do we help our kids move on from mistakes?

Singing Schedule:
Grades K-8 sing on Sunday, September 15.  Worship that day will be at Lakeview Park in Beaver Dam starting at 10:00.  Following worship will be our church picnic and welcome for new teachers.  Please bring a dish to pass.  The main meal will be provided.  If it rains, worship will be at church with the meal to follow in the basement.

Children’s Choir is scheduled to sing September 29 at 9:00 at Good Shepherd.

Band lessons will start next Wednesday, Sept 4.

Piano lessons will start on Tuesday, Sept 3

Kindergarten parents:  Please be sure that your child’s immunization records are sent to school as soon as possible.  If you have any questions, do not hesitate to email Mr. Schulz and he will help out.  (Principal@saintstephen.org)

Parking lot gates:
The gates of our parking lot are closed at 8:00 and are usually opened by 3:00.  We ask that parents that arrive early be patient if the gates are closed or the lot is being used for recess/P.E.  We also ask that you pull as far forward as possible and come to get your child from the marked area, especially if they are under 3rd grade.

Parking lot news:
Please remember there is no parking along the building between the hours of 7:30 and 3:45.  This has been designated by a double yellow line.  This is our safe/waiting zone for the children in the morning and evening. Please wait with your children inside the double yellow lines. Even if you are discussing something with a teacher, please be mindful of where your child is.

If you are dropping your child off in the travel lane by the double yellow lines, please move forward as far as possible–up to the handicapped stalls– to allow other families to drop their children off in a timely manner.  All parking lot procedures will be monitored during the first few weeks of school and adjusted as necessary.  If you are parking to bring your child into the building or to the building doors, we ask that you depart through the western most exit.  (this is the exit closest to Mary St.)

Please do not park by the playground.

Mission Collection:
We collected $44.00 at our opening service for the work of Project Timothy.  We set a goal of $500.00 for our first quarter goal.  Our last collection for this mission will be October 21.

Picture Day:
Picture day is scheduled for Monday, September 23.  Emails will be automatically sent to families soon with ordering information.

Sporting events are posted here

Lunch Menu is posted here.  Click on the Lunch tab and the new menus will be posted as time permits.

LLHS Visit:
On Friday, September 13, Mr. Stephen Lauber will be visiting St. Stephen’s.  Mr. Lauber is the recruitment director at Lakeside Lutheran High School.  He comes to discuss secondary Christian education with the 8th graders around 12:45 and then with the entire school at 1:30.

Communication:
There are 3 core ways information is shared at St. Stephen’s.
Fastdirect will be the most used way to communicate daily with teachers. This will be for student progress and questions.  It will also be a common way to set up appointments with your student’s teacher.  If you have issues with Fastdirect, please contact Mr. Schulz as soon as possible.
SSBDWELS.COM/SCHOOL is the schools website.  All classroom, athletic, school updates will be posted here for future reference.  You will get email notifications when items are posted to the site.
OneCall is the way many emergency and mass notifications will be sent out.  You could get a text, email, phone call, or all if the situation warrants.  Weekly school updates are sent via this method.
All these methods are great, but personal interactions are always the best.  Please, if there are concerns or comments you wish to make with your child’s teacher, please work out a way to talk face-to-face.

Tuition/Fees:
If your family needs to pay their 1st round of installment payments, please do so by the 15th of this month.  This would only apply to those families who were not able to pay their first installment during Orientation/Registration.  Starting in October, statements will be coming home with students to families with fees due.

LLHS Lady Jr. Warriors:
Registration Open: The Junior Lady Warriors basketball club is open to all girls attending grades 5-8 at one of our Lakeside Federation Lutheran elementary schools; note: 8th graders should have the desire to enroll at Lakeside for high school; club involvement is not intended to replace participation on Lutheran elementary school teams. Two Sunday tryout sessions have been scheduled at Lakeside: September 22 and September 29, 2024, both from 6-8 pm. Please contact the girls’ head coach, Andy Asmus with questions. Click here for more information.

Blessings on your week.
