God Word– impressed on the move.
“Therefore go and gather disciples from all nations by baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and by teaching them to keep all the instructions I have given you. And surely I am with you always until the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20
Encouragement Passage:
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
James 3:17-18
This will be the last weekly update for the 2024-2025 school year.
Graduation
Grades K-8 will sing during Ascension/Graduation service on Thursday, May 29, starting at 6:30. Children’s Choir, Jr. Choir and 8th grade students will need to be here by 5:45 for mass rehearsal of our song. This is the one and only rehearsal with all three choirs so it is important that students are there on time.
Please have the children wear the following: ladies–nice skirt/blouse, nice pants/blouse, gentlemen–dress pants/polo, dress pants/nice shirt tie.
Grades K-7 will sing the graduates song, Children’s Choir and Jr. Choir will join the Sr. Choir for a song. Jr. Choir will also sing a song of their own. Jr. Choir, and 8th grade will sit in the reserved seats in the front of the church. Children’s Choir and K-1 students will sit with families until it is time to sing. When it is time for them to sing, they will come to the front of the church. Please refrain from sitting in the balcony. Thank you.
Grade 8 will be getting a photo taken after the mass rehearsal, but before Jr. Choir rehearsal.
There will be cake/refreshments served in the church basement after the service is finished.
Mission Collection:
Quarter 4 brings us to supporting the WELS college of Ministry, MLC. This past week’s collection was $166.50. We are at $603, which is 120.78% of our $500.00 goal. There was a larger donation given to help this mission. Students can still bring in mission money this week to continue to support this mission.
Family Celebration Night
Thank you to all who came to our family celebration on Monday evening. It is good to recognize the students for all their accomplishments throughout the year. Lord’s blessings to all.
Jerry’s BP Spirit Pump Supports St. Stephen’s:
Jerry’s Automotive/BP, 700 N Spring St. (Across from The Market in Beaver Dam) has a Spirit pump. There’s still a few days to get your gasoline at Jerry’s BP. Two cents per gallon purchased goes to St. Stephen’s School.
St. Stephen’s Rummage Sale:
There have been quite a few donations given for the rummage sale, but there is a big space to fill in the gymnasium. Please consider donating your items to be sold to benefit the school and youth group. Donations are being accepted at the church office for a rummage sale that will be held in the gym at St. Stephen’s June 12th-14th. The funds raised will support the following projects: the playground, the bleachers in the gym, and St. Stephen’s attendees of the 2026 WELS Youth Rally in Bowling Green, Ohio. Donations will be accepted from now until June 10th. We ask that no large furniture, mattresses, or TV’s be donated. All donations should be in good, clean, working conditions. Please attach an approximate value to items, especially collectibles or antiques (if able). All donations will be sent to Twice Is Nice after the sale if it is not sold at St. Stephen’s.
Odds and ends:
-If you are interested in a parts of the playground, as is, please contact Mr. Schulz as soon as possible to reserve those parts.
-When the call goes out for help to tear down the old playground and bleachers, please consider helping out. This isn’t going to be an easy process and many hands make light work.
-5/29 End of year picnic starts at 11:00 at Tahoe Park. The picnic only succeeds with help from the parents. If you volunteered to bring items to the picnic, please have them at school by the 28th. If you are going to bring your items to the park, please let Mr. Schulz know. Thank you in advance for all your help.
-Report cards will be released via FastDirect on Friday, May 30, after the teachers have had the opportunity to finalize them.
-If you have a remaining balance on your school bill, please make every effort to make payment before the end of the week. If you need to know information about the amount due, please let Mr. Schulz know.
-Please keep an eye out for 2025-2026 school year information. It will be mailed to you throughout the summer. Email communications also may come to you through FastDirect or the email address we have on file. Facebook is also a great place to keep updated on the next school year. Parent/Family orientation days are August 10 and 11. School starts on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
St. Stephen’s School Mission:
St. Stephen’s Lutheran School will offer a Christ-centered education to all students. We will instruct them in the Word of God, educate them in secular subjects, train them to become responsible citizens in our community, and prepare them for their eternal victory in heaven when they die. We will do this by holding Jesus and his love before them each day by appropriately using law and gospel as we instruct and discipline.
Please remember that if you need assistance with anything that you can reach out to the teachers and leaders of St. Stephen’s. You can also find answers to some questions on the website: www.ssbdwels.com
Blessings on your week.
