God Word is impressed at the beginning of the day.
But I will sing about your strength.
In the morning I will shout about your mercy,
because you are a high fortress for me.
Psalm 59:16

Encouragement Passage:
Do not love the world or anything in the world.
If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.
For everything in the world
—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—
comes not from the Father but from the world.
I John 2:15-16

Singing Schedule:
Kindergarten and 1st grade will sing on Sunday, November 17 during the 10:00 service.  Please see classroom notes for more information on arrival time and where to sit.

Good Shepherd Lutheran Preschool will be singing November 24 during the 10:00 service.

Mission Collection:
We collected $112.60 in our chapel service last week for Project Timothy.  We have collected $223.95 of our $600.00 goal.  Thank you to all the veterans and their families who also supported the mission this past week. Let’s see how far we can take the 2nd quarter goal.  The 2nd quarter missions will go to help the WELS world mission in the United Kingdom/London.

Financial responsibilities:
Fee statements were sent home recently.  Please remember to pay this before the 15th of the month.  Thank you.

Mid-Quarter Reports:
Wednesday marks the midway point of the 2nd quarter.  Reports will be released during the day on Thursday.  Please take a moment to look at and discuss the report with your children.  If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to the teachers.

School entry in the morning:
Just a friendly reminder that the west door (W3) is the main entry for ALL students in the morning unless they arrive at school after 8:00.  Only after 8:00 should students enter the building through the office.

Food Drive:
From October 28-November 22, St. Stephen’s will be collecting non-perishable food for the local food pantry.  There will be a classroom challenge associated with this food drive this year.  Classroom groups will be as follows:  Kindergarten and 6th grade, 1st grade, 2nd and 7th grade, 3rd and 4th grade, 5th and 8th grade.  So, get excited to start collecting!  Each week, the group with the most contributions will receive an edible treat and/or a non-edible prize! Most importantly, let’s let our light shine and share the love of Jesus by helping to meet the bodily needs of people in our community.

Beaver Dam Parade:
St. Stephen’s is going to be a part of the Beaver Dam Holiday Parade again this year on Saturday, December 7 at 5:00 pm.  Click here to see where you can help out.
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to walk the route as we hand out candy and pass out fliers promoting our church and school. Participants are encouraged to wear our school colors. Since it will be dark, light-up necklaces or glowsticks, etc. may be a fun addition!!   What a wonderful way to let others know about us.

-Donations of candy may be brought to the school office.
-Details about our location on the parade route will be forthcoming.
-Please consider joining us for this fun event and/or making a candy donation
-Any question?: Reach out to Karen Cooper at kcooper@saintstephen.org.

Special Event:
On Tuesday, November 26, starting promptly at 2:00, the students will be gathering in the gym for a jump rope competition.  Parents and families are invited to attend.  We ask that you park in the main west lot and enter the school through the office door (S1).  We are also asking that the students wear their tie dye t-shirts that were given out at the beginning of the year as a sign of solidarity.  Thank you.

No School:
There is no school Wednesday-Friday, November 27-29 due to the Thanksgiving holiday.  Blessings as you celebrate Thankfulness with your families.

St. Stephen’s School Mission:
St. Stephen’s Lutheran School will offer a Christ-centered education to all students. We will instruct them in the Word of God, educate them in secular subjects, train them to become responsible citizens in our community, and prepare them for their eternal victory in heaven when they die. We will do this by holding Jesus and his love before them each day by appropriately using law and gospel as we instruct and discipline.   Sporting events are posted here

Lunch menu is posted here

Blessings on your week.
