Hello,
Life was a theme for our classroom this week in a few different ways. First of all, we celebrated the life we have through Christ during all our Christ Light lessons and our Lenten devotions. We planted Wisconsin Fast Plant seeds on Tuesday, and some are already germinating. Some of our mealworms are going through metamorphosis as God designed them to do. (See Class Dojo photos if you wish.) The Painted Lady caterpillars are getting ready to form their chrysalises.
Here are some tidbits for this week:
MEMORY WORK: This quarter contains some memory work days on Mondays, as well as, the regular Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please note this change
OWW: The field trip to Old World Wisconsin is Thursday, May 22 from 8 to 3. Thank you to those who have signed up to drive and chaperone.
SERMON STUDIES: Pages are available for your child to take and use when he or she needs another copy. Thank you parents for helping your child with this. There have even been students encouraging each other. As one of our pastors stated, “This is an activity in faith formation.” Just a reminder as stated when this initially started, I do include this with Christ Light. This weekend I will be posting so you know where your child is at. As another pastor mentioned, “Just like memory work, we are not grading faith when we have the students complete such activities and record them for class.”
NIGHTLY READING: The journals and books were sent home on March 26. There are 8 journal entries to be completed. The whole book doesn’t need to be finished before entries are started. The due date is April 17. Items may be turned in earlier once they are completed. Thanks.
SINGING: Our next singing opportunity is this Sunday, April 13. We will sing during the 10 a.m. service. This time we will meet in the choir room at 9:40 a.m. since the kids will be walking in with palm branches. After singing, your child will sit with you.
MISSION: Our 4th quarter mission for MLC continues. Our total stands at $ 166.30 which is 33.26% of our goal. Thank you for blessing our pastor and teacher training college with your offerings.
NO SCHOOL: There will be no school on Friday, April 18, or Monday, April 21.
TEACHER/STUDENT DATES: Tacos with the Teacher continues this week. Shooting hoops and playing checkers have been the activities of choice this past week. Watch out, we’ve got some future bball players on our hands.
