Hello,

Another awesome trip to Camp Phillip is in the books.  The trip never disappoints.  Thank you to the chaperones who made this trip a success as well.  We received a high compliment from one of the leaders who said the kids were well -behaved, and it was evident that I loved them.  (Tears were in the eyes from this blessed teacher mama.)  We also received thanks for leaving our cabins in great condition before we left.  Way to go everyone! All that being said, thank you parents for allowing your child to go for an overnight trip so early into the school year.

(Check out photos on St. Stephen’s Facebook page.  I hope to have a post created by Sunday evening.)

Now on to our first full week of school on campus!!!

Here are some  tidbits for the week:

SINGING: We sing for the church picnic on Sunday, September 15, at Lakeside Park at 10 a.m. We also sing at Good Shepherd on Sunday, September 29, at the 9 a.m. service.  Your child will sit with you and come up to sing. (The online newsletter has the video link for the song to be sung at Good Shepherd.)

MISSION: On our first chapel about 8% of our $500 quarterly goal was collected.  As you are able, please use the envelope sent home in your child’s weekly folder to send an offering.  This week Pastor Zatorius from Luther Prep will come to lead chapel and speak about Project Timothy. All of our offerings this quarter go to Project Timothy.

WEEKLY FOLDER: Remember to empty all the papers on the Keep at Home side of the folder and look through them.  Notes may get mixed in with corrected work depending on how your child places the papers.  Also, notes may be time sensitive.  Thanks.

ASSIGNMENT NOTEBOOK:  Please remember to check the assignment notebook each day and sign off at the bottom. Thanks. Some abbreviation clarifications are as follows:  E=English, WW= Word Work, GW= God’s Word, MW=Memory Work, H=handwriting, W= Writing.

STUDENT COUNCIL: Fourth graders have all been nominated for student council.  If your child is in fourth grade and is interested, please return the parent signature form sent home last week and return by Friday.

BEACH TOWEL: Please send a bath towel or beach towel with your child by Wednesday, September 11.  We will be using them during snack/storytime this Wednesday.

STATE FLOAT: A note about a state float that your child will be creating at home as part of Social Studies class will be in the weekly folder. This past week your child picked a state via the sticks method. (Without looking, I pick a popsicle stick with a name on it out of a container.)

A box top will also be coming home on Monday on which to make the “float” as you would see in a parade.  Please be sure your child creates on the box topside, not upside down. (No wheels required.)  The float is due Nov 8, 2024

God’s blessings!!
