Hello,
I have been hearing some neat comments about the float projects. Keep up the good work. I can’t wait to see the end results. The kiddos are usually even more excited to show off their projects when they are done. Remember, the float is due Friday, November 8.
Here are some tidbits for the week:
SINGING: We sing tomorrow at Good Shepherd at the 9 a.m. service. Your child will sit with you and come up to sing.
MAP TESTING: Our first round of Map Testing will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning of this week.
MISSION: We have collected roughly 60% of our goal. This past Monday’s offering total was $82. Keep on blessing Project Timothy with your offerings. We have 4 more offering opportunities to meet our goal. Let’s do this!!!!
ASSIGNMENT NOTEBOOK: Third grade students will be using an assignment sheet instead of the notebook for a few weeks. Fourth grade students will continue with their notebooks.
LATE WORK: Due to an increase in late work by the third grade class, I will need to check each students work individually by day’s end to be sure each child has actually completed it. (Your child may not be galloping out the school doors right away beginning next Tuesday.) I have found some left in desks and some turned in unfinished. There are students who have been leaving work at home on more than one occasion. Third grade is a huge transition year. Please continue to help out at home by checking on homework. Please look. They are not ready for you to simply ask if it is done. I may even send a photo via text of what the work to finish at home actually looks like. Thanks for this help. Staying after school to serve some time because of lates will begin the week of October 14th if a child needs a gentle reminder to be getting work done on time.
STUDENT COUNCIL: The work on speeches has begun. The due date for the speech is this coming Monday, September 30. Please have your child practice with you. Then on Monday, October 7, I plan to have them present their speeches after chapel to the lower grades.
Usually, our first meeting is the second Monday in October. However, our faculty meeting has been moved to that date. I’ll keep you posted as to our first meeting.
MINI RAIDERS: Girls in grades 1-4 will once again be able to participate in Mini Raiders. An additional note will be coming soon asking permission to participate.
STATE FLOAT: Keep on planning and/or working on the float. Please be sure your child creates on the box topside, not upside down. (No wheels required.) The float is due Nov 8, 2024. I’m looking forward to seeing all the creations.
God’s blessings!!
