Hello,
Many years ago Thanksgiving became a holiday. It seems to be one the world would like to bypass as the stores mingle fall and Christmas decor earlier and earlier every year. May we take special time to pause and be thankful for all our blessings big and small, especially the blessing of our Savior. May we take time to pause and prepare our hearts for the celebration of his coming before the “busyness” of the season sweeps us away. Even though we know every day is a reason for thankfulness, may we enjoy this special opportunity to pause and be thankful!
Here are some tidbits for the week:
SINGING: Children’s Choir will be singing tomorrow– November 10 during St. Stephen’s 8:00 service. We sing again in December for the Advent Song service.
MISSION: We are now collecting for the World Mission in the UK. Our offering total for this mission is $111.35. That brings us to roughly 22% of our goal. Thank you.
SHOW & TELL: Our classroom voted to have a show and tell day. This day will be Tuesday, November 26.
SPELLING TESTS: Each child will receive a spelling list through the weekly folder. Your child will also have a homework folder copy. Please be sure they keep that one with their homework folder since we use it at school. Thanks. This week’s test will be on Friday. Please study each night.
STATE FLOAT: The kiddos really put effort into their floats. They are excited to share them with others. They also want to bring a food item that goes with their state and possibly dress up. These are all fun ideas. I will plan a day before the semester ends.
FOOD DRIVE: The food drive continues this week. This week’s collection focuses on boxes of cereal. (These do not have to be name brand.) Let’s bless others in need.
SPIRIT WEEK: Let’s see all the spirit this week. See your paper note or Mr. Schulz’s note for
each day’s theme.
ART ON THE TOWN: On Wednesday, November 20, we will be walking to Art on the Town to have fun creating a painting. The plan is to be there by 1 and return to school by 3:00 pm. Funds for this are already in place.
WET WIPES: Please ask your child if he or she is in need of wet wipes. The wipes are stored at your kiddo’s desk, so he or she would (should) know. Thanks.
POP TOP TABS: My sister’s school is collecting pop top tabs, monster tabs, etc. for a family using the Ronald McDonald House due to a serious injury of their son. If you aren’t collecting these for any other reason, feel free to send them to our room, and I will get them to my sister. Thanks.
BAPTISM BIRTHDAYS: We are adding baptism dates to our birthday chart in our room. Please send a note or text informing me of your child’s baptism day. We will be having a celebration around the time of my baptism birthday. (It’s March 16, and we will be on vacation.)
God’s blessings!!
