Pursue

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

Philippians 3:12

Encouragement Passage:

Trust in the Lord forever,
for Yah the Lord is the eternal Rock.
Isaiah 26:4

Singing Schedule:
Thank you to all who participated in the 150th anniversary service last weekend.

Thank you to all the piano students who participated in preservice work this weekend.

Mission offering:
We are collecting offerings for LLHS OpGo.  We have collected $378.05 of our $500.00 goal so far.  This past week was a collection of $72.15, which is 75.6% of our total goal.  Let the Lord of Life guide us as we support this mission.  Please look for envelopes to come home with children.  We thank Pastor Dustin Yahnke for his message last Monday about taking the Gospel message to various places in the United States.  As a point of reference, for each student from LLHS that goes on one of these OpGo trips, it costs anywhere from $600-$800.00 per student.  With our offerings, we will be able to help out a student as they take the Gospel to the various corners of the country.  We have 2 weeks of collections for this mission.

School payments
Please be prompt with school payments of any form:  school fees, lunch, field trips, band, or piano.

When making payments, please put payments all in separate envelopes with the following information on it:
Family name
Student name
What the payment is for (Piano, Band, Lunch, School Fees, Field trip)

Thank you.

Fall Festival

Join us for a Trunk N’ Treat, games, food, and fellowship.  The event is scheduled for Sunday, October 26, 3:00-5:00 in the school parking lot.   We are looking for volunteers to help us with this event.  If you would like to donate or dress up your trunk, please click here to sign up.  Please consider where you can help out with this event.  If you have questions, please call or email the office at 920-885-3309 or office@saintstephen.org.

Veterans Day:
Our annual Veterans Day celebration is quickly coming up.  Please note the following details about Veterans Day:
All veterans are kindly invited to attend a special event in honor of their service to our country on Monday, November 10, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church. The event will begin with a chapel service held in the church beginning shortly after 8:00 a.m.  Following  the chapel service, the children in grades K-8 will present songs and speeches. Afterward, refreshments will be served in the church basement.

Please keep your eyes open for a note that will come home during the week of the 13th of October.

Yearbook:
Lifetouch offers a tool called Community Image Upload, which enables school communities to contribute candid photos directly into the yearbook website.  Parents and families can help submit pictures for this year’s yearbook.  Please consider when you are taking pictures to send them to St. Stephen’s for use in the yearbook.  Please be sure to submit your best photos of people.  Every photo that is submitted will be reviewed.   Follow the directions on the site.  Information should have come home on Friday with your child.

Raiderwear/Pursue Shirt Fridays:
To achieve a bit of unity in school we are going to start something called “Raiderwear/Pursue shirt Friday”.  On select Fridays we are going to ask students to wear their favorite “Raiderwear” or the new “Pursue” shirts they got this year.  Select Fridays will be announced in advance in the weekly update and to the students the day before.  Let’s show unity and school spirit as we move through this year.
This year’s first Friday is October 17.  We ask all students to wear their favorite “Raiderwear” to school.  Please keep in mind that the Pursue shirts, even though they have a Raiders logo on them, are for “Pursue Shirt Fridays”.  Most classroom teachers have chosen to keep these at school, meaning the students may change into them when they get to school on those Fridays.

St. Stephen’s School Mission:
St. Stephen’s Lutheran School will offer a Christ-centered education to all students. We will instruct them in the Word of God, educate them in secular subjects, train them to become responsible citizens in our community, and prepare them for their eternal victory in heaven when they die. We will do this by holding Jesus and his love before them each day by appropriately using law and gospel as we instruct and discipline.

Please remember that if you need assistance with anything that you can reach out to the teachers and leaders of St. Stephen’s.  You can also find answers to some questions on the website: www.ssbdwels.com
