Pursue

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

Philippians 3:12

Encouragement Passage:

This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
“I am the
Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you,
who directs you in the way you should go.”
Isaiah 48:17

Please share this information with your children.

Singing Schedule:
Thank you to all the families that attended worship in the park.  It was a bit chilly at times, but it was a beautiful worship experience.

Grades K-8 will sing in a special 150th Anniversary Service on Sunday, October 5.  This service will be at 3:00 PM.  There will be an opportunity for fellowship and food after the service.

Mission offering:
We are collecting offerings for LLHS OpGo.  Our goal is $500.00.  Over the course of the first two weeks of school, we have collected $133.30.  This is 22.6% of our total goal.  Let the Lord of Life guide us as we support this mission.  Please look for envelopes to come home with children.

Tuition/Fees:
If your family needs to pay their 1st round of installment payments, please do so by the 15th of this month.  This would only apply to those families who were not able to pay their first installment during Orientation/Registration.  Starting in October, statements will be coming home with students to families with fees due.

Band Fees:
If your child is in band, the first round of payments are due by the 15th of this month.  The first month payment is $75.00 per student.  Please send this in an envelope marked, “band payment.”  Thank you.

T-Shirt Order forms:
In the registration packet from July, there was a blue form.  This form asked for your children’s names and t-shirt sizes.  We are ordering shirts for each child to match our theme for the year.   They will be worn for special occasions or field trips as the teachers desire.  If you did not send this form back, please send it back ASAP.  If you need a new one, let us know and we will get it to you.  Here is the design we will be going with.  The yellow section will be white.

Mug orders:
Families that ordered Coffee Mugs during registration can go to the office and get them from Mrs. Gensmer.  Remember the cost of each much is $20.00.  It is a great way to advertise your church and school to those around you.  There are a few extras that are being sold on a first come, first served basis.  Again, feel free to stop in and see if there are any available.

Raiderwear Site:
Here (St. Stephen’s Raiderwear) is the link to our Raiderwear Site.  The site is open until Sept 17.  A great way to show school spirit.  Don’t hesitate to ask questions.

Facebook:
If you are one who uses Facebook, consider the following:  Visibility is important in this world.  Every time you check in somewhere, someone’s curiosity is piqued.  Consider checking in to St. Stephens’ Lutheran Church and School whenever you are in our building for an event–whether a sporting event, forensics, or even weekly worship.  This will allow others to see our Church and School and the events that go on here.  Also, there are pictures of events posted here to show others what we do as a church and school.  Sometimes events are live streamed as well.

Playground/Bleacher update:
As of September 4, the playground structure and work done there has been paid for.  There was $13,000 in extra expenses that we were not anticipating.  We will be raising funds to set that balance even and then start to raise funds for the next phase of the playground which would include a climber, a spinner, and possibly some monkey bars.
The bleacher expense went up, so we are now raising funds to total $35,000 so we can have new bleachers in the gymnasium that all will be able to enjoy.
Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make these things happen.  We have a long way to go, but we will get there eventually.

St. Stephen’s School Mission:
St. Stephen’s Lutheran School will offer a Christ-centered education to all students. We will instruct them in the Word of God, educate them in secular subjects, train them to become responsible citizens in our community, and prepare them for their eternal victory in heaven when they die. We will do this by holding Jesus and his love before them each day by appropriately using law and gospel as we instruct and discipline.

Please remember that if you need assistance with anything that you can reach out to the teachers and leaders of St. Stephen’s.  You can also find answers to some questions on the website: www.ssbdwels.com

Blessings on your week.
