This week our Math classes went beyond paper/pencil to create bar graphs to organize collected data (levels 4 and 5) and protein balls to practice measuring and fractions (level 3). We also experimented with making a simple electromagnet. Bucket drumming rounded out our Friday.
Here are some tidbits for the week:
VALENTINE’S DAY: We will be exchanging cards. Cards may be store bought or hand-made. Here is a class list so no one is accidentally forgotten. Rock, Kaitlyn, Lilly, Drew, Brooklyn, Kennedy, Jonas, Anabelle, Ezekiel, Ashlyn, Silas, Liam, Somaya, Harper, Kenzie, and Judah.
I will have a few treats for the kiddos. You may send a treat if you wish, but it is not required. This day will be busy with other activities, so there isn’t a big party per se.
SCIENCE TEST: Wednesday will be test day for our Forces unit. A review page will be given out on Monday for the kiddos to complete. This will need to be studied at home besides the review activities we will be doing at school.
BAPTISM BIRTHDAYS: We are adding baptism dates to our birthday chart in our room. Please send a note or text informing me of your child’s baptism day. We will be celebrating around the time of my baptism birthday. (I have 13 baptism birthdays as of this typing. Thank you!) If you have searched through photos, etc. and can’t find the date, please let me know. Even a month would be great if you don’t have the exact date. Thanks.
SINGING: Our next singing opportunity is Sunday, March 2 at St. Stephen’s during the 8:00 service. The kiddos will be sitting with you and coming up to sing.
MISSION: Our new mission will be for a starter congregation in Bend, Oregon. Our goal will once again be $500. Our total so far is $199.65 which is roughly 40% of our goal. Awesome.
SPELLING TESTS: Tests are this Friday. Please practice at home using the copy that comes in the weekly folder.
POP-TOP TABS: My sister’s school is collecting pop-top tabs, monster tabs, etc. for a family using the Ronald McDonald House due to a serious injury of their son. If you aren’t collecting these for any other reason, feel free to send them to our room, and I will get them to my sister. Thanks.
STUDENT COUNCIL: Student council will meet Monday, February 10, after school until 4 pm.
God’s blessings,
Karen Cooper
