Dear brothers and sisters in Christ at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church and School,

Over the past several weeks, I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to deliberate between the call you issued to me
to serve as an associate pastor among you and the call I currently serve at Hope Lutheran Church here in Tigard.
God has blessed this time of deliberation for me, and for my family. I have truly enjoyed getting to know many of you
there at St. Stephen’s, and it has been an honor to learn your ministries, and to consider how I might be a part of
them. Your love for the Lord, your love for the ministry, and your love for God’s Word is evident among you all! The
work you are doing there is wonderful and your mission there to each person in Beaver Dam is eternally important!

After much prayer and deliberation, I have decided to return the call to St. Stephen’s and to continue serving on as
pastor at Hope in Tigard.

Please continue to keep your brothers and sisters here in Portland in your prayers, as we will be keeping you all in
ours, praying specifically for the pastor that God has in mind to serve as your new associate pastor.

Your servant in Christ,

Pastor Paul W. Bourman
