Dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus,
Inspired by the Spirt, St. Paul wrote, “I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service” (1 Timothy 1:12). By the same Spirit, I fully acknowledge that the only reason I am fit for Christ’s service is because, in his overwhelming grace, he has made me so. And, after receiving the call that you’ve extended to me, I want you to know that I’m thankful that the Lord has also given me the opportunity to consider participating in his service among you.
I have received much information about your ministry already, and I’m looking forward to reading through it and trying to understand how the Lord might put the gifts he’s given me to good use among you.
As I wrestle with this choice, I will pray for insight and for wisdom and for all those who will be affected by my decision. I would also ask you to please pray for my family and I, and for God’s people and our ministry here as well.
God grant you his peace and joy today, tomorrow, and forever; for his mercy endures forever.
