Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, members of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church,
On June 18, you extended a divine call to me. To hold any call is always and only a gi! of God’s grace
that dare never be taken lightly. A!er much prayer, many conversations, reflection, and assessment of
the needs of both congregations, I am returning the call to St. Stephen’s, which you have extended me,
and I will remain at Salem in Milwaukee.
While it would be a joy to serve with you, I believe that at this time, I still have fruitful labor ahead of
me in Milwaukee.
I am thankful for God’s grace which has come to me through you. I am thankful to know you, to
continue to pray for you, to keep you in my heart and mind, and finally, to cherish the gi! of God’s
grace that has allowed us to meet even more of the people with whom we will spend eternity in
heaven!
As you await the associate pastor that the Lord has in mind, I leave you with these words from the
Apostle Paul: “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give
yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain” (1
Corinthians 15:58).
In the peace of Jesus,
Pastor Jeremy Wosje
