Dear Brothers and Sisters of Resurrection & Life Lutheran Church,

We are coming upon Holy Week. This solemn time gives us pause to reflect upon our Savior’s death. We know the reason for his death. We have sinned. We do not measure up to God’s perfection. Yet, our Savior took the punishment we deserved, so that we could be free. Holy Week leads right into Easter Sunday. This joyous day in which our alleluias return for Christ has won the victory.

This victory is what our life is all about. It brings joy to our heart. It leads us in our life. It is the message we proclaim. This proclamation of sins forgiven is spoken about from the pulpits of churches every week. The members of Resurrection and Life Lutheran Church have called me to be a part of their ministry in this proclamation. In the coming weeks I look forward to hearing more about the mission before you in Rochester.

I would also ask for prayers for myself and my family, as I deliberate this call. Please also keep St. Stephen’s in your prayers as they offer advice and counsel. May that wonderful news of Easter fill us with peace and joy, now and always!

In Christ’s Service,

Pastor Seth P. Dorn
