To the members of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church and School,
Jeremiah 29:11 states: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Throughout my ministry the idea of planning has always been interesting. There were times when the Lord’s plans were laid out plainly in front of me, and then there were times when the plans were a little obscured, but worked out for the benefit of the Lord’s kingdom.
Early in December, the Lord led the voter’s of St. Stephen’s to call me to be the principal, upper grade math teacher, and seventh grade homeroom teacher. Over the past few weeks, I have enjoyed my conversations with members of the church and the church leadership. Included in the conversations was some self-reflection and prayer. When all was said and done, it was a good way to look at my work in the Lord’s kingdom and where he could use me the best.
After considering the pros and cons, the conversations, and prayer, the Lord has led me to accept the call to be the principal, 7th grade homeroom teacher, and math instructor at St. Stephen’s.
Here the Lord’s plans are laid before us and we can work together for the benefit of the kingdom. I look forward to working with the church and school leadership to move the ministry of St. Stephen’s forward. Please continue to pray for our church and school as this transition happens and also as we now move forward to fill our vacancy for music administration in the church and school.
Lord’s Blessings to you all.
Mr. David R. Schulz
