The Annual Meeting of the Voters of our congregation was held Sunday, January 26.

  1. The Audit Committee reported that finances of the congregation and school are in satisfactory order and made some recommendations for some improvements.

  2. Treasurer David Stange explained our finances.

  3. Elections for open positions on our Council and Boards were held. Elected to the Council were:

  • Church Council: Travis Bowe, James Hemling, Richard Nedow.

  • New officers will be elected to specific positions at the February Council meeting.

  • Jayme Roll, Gene Nimmer and Duane Swenson have completed their terms of service. We thank them for their time and efforts serving on the Council.

4. Special written reports were reviewed:

  • Approval of membership actions of 2024.

  • Other reports were also reviewed.

5. Old Business

  • Gene Nimmer reviewed work done on the May Street parsonage during the vacancy, and the flooding that happened because of a pipe fitting that popped off in an upstairs bathroom. A restoration company has done mitigation work, removal of drywall and carpeting, and will begin working on restoring the house. We are also working with Church Mutual, our insurance company, and have already received about $43,000 toward the work.

  • Sanctuary Restoration Committee. Some minor projects remain such as a new sound system, painting of stairwells and narthex. These are in the planning stages.

  • Board of Education reported that the accreditation of our school is near completion. A group from WELSSA (WELS School Accreditation) will be visiting here next month.

6. New Business

  • A new article was added to the Bylaws, establishing an Outreach and Media Committee. One of the former council members at large is now the chairman of the Outreach and media committee.

  • An revised article on the Finance Committee will be used this year on a trial basis for approval at next year’s annual meeting.

  • The Ministry Spending Plan (Budget) was adjusted up $2750 for the health insurance of our called workers.
