Dear Brothers and Sisters of St. Bartholomew & Holy Cross Lutheran Churches,

This weekend in worship we get to hear the wonderful message of John the Baptist preaching a message of repentance to prepare our hearts to meet the coming Savior. The season of Advent is a time of anticipation. We prepare our hearts for Christmas. We also make sure we are ready to welcome our Savior when he comes again.

The message of John the Baptist rings true today, just as it did along the banks of the Jordan River. Faithful pastors proclaim this message. Teachers instill this message in students. Individuals live a life of repentance each and every day.

Over the last month I have had the opportunity to discuss the ministry at St. Bartholomew and Holy Cross with many people. It was a joy to learn of the gospel work going on. After those discussions, as well as much prayer, I have decided to return my call to St. Bartholomew and Holy Cross to remain at St. Stephen’s. St. Bartholomew and Holy Cross will remain in my prayers as they continue to call for a faithful shepherd to help lead them.

Christmas Blessings,

Pastor Seth P. Dorn
