Dear brothers and sisters of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church,
In the 21st chapter of John’s Gospel, John records an encounter between Peter and Jesus. Peter was asked about his love for the Lord and Jesus responded three times with the phrase, “Feed my lambs” or “Feed my sheep.” As I look at the ministry that I have been called into, these words continue to mean much to me. Jesus in effect calls me and other ministers of the gospel to feed his sheep. Throughout my ministry, the Lord has used me to feed his sheep in various capacities.
With that being said, the Lord in his wisdom has led the leaders of Petra Lutheran Church and School to extend a divine call to me to be their Principal and 3rd through 8th grade teacher.
What a truly humbling experience it is to look at one’s ministry and how the Lord will use you. Over the next few weeks, I look forward to communicating with members of both St. Stephen’s, as well as Petra. I will use these conversations to evaluate the skills and abilities that the Lord has given to me and where they can best be used.
Please keep my family, me, the members of St. Stephen’s and the members of Petra in your prayers as I deliberate the calls to these congregations.
