School News:
Open House – classrooms will be open today from 8:30 am till 10:30 am for all to see room arrangements and what’s ‘new’ for this year.
Bible Studies
- Women’s Bible Study Group will meet on September 11th at 6pm. Copies of the study are available in the church entry and at study time. All women of the congregation are welcome.
- Men’s Bible Study starts tonight, September 8th and will be meeting Sunday nights at 6:30pm in the meeting room above church office.
- Fall Bible Study starts September 9th & 11th “God’s Grace Learned Through Hard Lessons”. This study will be an overview of the book of Numbers. When hard times come, we can easily give up and feel like God is not with us. However, we will see the rich grace of God given to his people even during very difficult times. We will meet Mondays at 7:00pm and Wednesdays at 11:00am.
Public School Catechism / Confirmation Classes
- 7th & 8th Grade Public School Catechism Classes will be conducted together with Good Shepherd. They will meet Wednesdays only, 3:30-4:45pm. Classes begin Wednesday, September 11. Parents will be contacted with details.
- 6th Grade Public School Catechism classes will begin September 11 at 3:30pm-4:10pm

Organization of WELS Lutheran Seniors (OWLS) will get together again Tuesday, September 10 at 12 noon. We’ll start with a potluck lunch. Following lunch, Dick Zondag of Jung Seed Co. will have a presentation on Fall Lawn & Garden preparations. He will be happy to answer any of your questions on plants, lawns, etc. OWLS is for folks 50 years and older, for fellowship, spiritual growth, and learning. Our group is made up of people from St. Stephen’s, Friedens-Randolph, and St. John’s-Fox Lake. We’d love to have you join us!
St. Stephen’s PTS will be hosting a movie night on Friday, Sept. 20, 2019 starting at 6:30 p.m. We will be watching “The Secret Life of Pets 2”. All are welcome!
LWMS Door Offering will be collected at the door after services for the next 2 weekends, September 15th and 22nd. These offerings support special WELS mission projects chosen annually by our LWMS Beaver Dam Circuit. The Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society Fall Rally will be held on Saturday, October 19th, at Zion church in Columbus. Registration is at 9:45 am and the day will conclude at 2:30pm.
“Welcome Home” Sunday please mark your calendars for October 27, 2019. We are aiming for 100% attendance of our membership this weekend. We will also have our 2nd annual Fall Festival on this day. More information will follow soon.
Sunday School Begins Today at 9:00 am. There will be no special registration. Simply bring your child to the school a few minutes before 9:00 A.M. on the 8th. We expect all children who do not attend our Christian Day School to be enrolled in Sunday School. We also have class for preschoolers who will be 4 years old by September 1st.

At Peace? A Retreat for Women, held at Peace Lutheran in Loves Park, IL will offer their 11th annual one day retreat Saturday, October 5th. This year’s theme is “Salt & Light”. Keynote speaker will be Katie Martin, author of devotions and articles that point to God’s amazing love. There will also be five workshops offered. Lutheran Explorers will kick off with a pot luck lunch on Sunday, September 15, starting at noon. Explorers are changing their focus this year. They will be doing more family activities. This is open for all families. We want to strengthen our bonds with each other. This month bring a dish to pass and enjoy fellowship with fellow believers. We will also speak about the “new look” Explorers. In October, we will go hiking at Horicon Marsh. Please join us!
