{"id":33461,"date":"2025-05-18T19:31:51","date_gmt":"2025-05-19T00:31:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ssbdwels.com\/school\/?p=33461"},"modified":"2025-05-18T19:31:51","modified_gmt":"2025-05-19T00:31:51","slug":"2nd-to-last-week-of-2nd-grade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ssbdwels.com\/school\/2nd-to-last-week-of-2nd-grade\/","title":{"rendered":"2nd to Last Week of 2nd Grade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ssbdwels.com\/school\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/May-19-23.pdf\">May 19-23<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Grades K-8 will sing during the Ascension\/Graduation service on Thursday, May 29, starting at 6:30.\u00a0 Children&#8217;s Choir, Jr. Choir and 8th-grade students will need to be here by 5:45 for mass rehearsal of our song.\u00a0 This is the one and only rehearsal with all three choirs so it is important that students are there on time.\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"3\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please have the children wear the following:\u00a0 <\/span><b>ladies\u2013nice skirt\/blouse, nice pants\/blouse, gentlemen\u2013dress pants\/polo, dress pants\/nice shirt tie.\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Grades K-7 will sing the graduates song, Children\u2019s Choir and Jr. Choir will join the Sr. Choir for a song.\u00a0 Jr. Choir will also sing a song of their own.\u00a0 Jr. Choir, and 8th grade will sit in the reserved seats in the front of the church.\u00a0 Children\u2019s Choir and K-1 students will sit with families until it is time to sing.\u00a0 When it is time for them to sing, they will come to the front of the church.\u00a0 Please refrain from sitting in the balcony.\u00a0 Thank you. There will be cake\/refreshments served in the church basement after the service is finished.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>5\/19<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: School Family Night 6:00-8:00.\u00a0 All are invited.\u00a0 This is the evening we celebrate all our accomplishments at school.\u00a0 The band and choir will perform.\u00a0 We will honor our students in various ways throughout the evening.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>5\/29 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The end-of-year picnic starts at 11:00 at Tahoe Park. A sign-up genius will be sent home soon for help. The picnic only succeeds with help from the parents.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This year, we will continue changing last-day procedures. With the graduation service on the last day, we will not have a closing service at 9 a.m. on Thursday. We will have a closing devotion with songs at the end of the picnic, and then celebrate our school year closing at the graduation service.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Report cards will be released via FastDirect on Friday, May 30, after the teachers have had the opportunity to finalize them.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\"><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Memory Work for this week.\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"3\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 Timothy 3:3-4\u00a0 Wednesday, May 21<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"4\"><b>\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"3\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 5th Petition Friday, May 23<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"4\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. What does this mean? We pray in this petition that our Father in heaven would not look upon our sins or because of them deny our prayers;\u00a0 for we are worthy of none of these things of which we ask, neither have we deserve them, but we ask that he would give them all to us by grace; for we daily send much and surely deserve nothing but punishment.
