Now onto another shorter week packed with Camp Phillip fun!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In case I hadn\u2019t mentioned it in any earlier publications, you may feel free to text or call me with any concerns after school up until 7:30 p.m.\u00a0 I will do my best to respond.\u00a0 After that time I am in wind-down mode since I have a morning routine that gets me out of bed early.\u00a0 If I miss a communication I will reach out the next day.\u00a0 Thanks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Here are some\u00a0 tidbits for the week:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>SINGING: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We sing for the church picnic on Sunday, September 15, at Lakeside Park at 10 a.m. We also sing at Good Shepherd on Sunday, September 29, at the 9 a.m. service.\u00a0 Your child will sit with you and come up to sing.\u00a0 Here is a video to the song being sung at Good Shepherd<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"video-shortcode\"><iframe title=\"Listen to the Word of the Lord (Lyric Video) - Getty Girls, Keith &amp; Kristyn Getty, Jordan Kauflin\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/n4SK2GR4OW8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><b>MISSION: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On our first chapel about 8% of our $500 quarterly goal was collected.\u00a0 As you are able, please use the envelope sent home in your child\u2019s weekly folder to send an offering.\u00a0 This week we do not have chapel, but an offering may still be sent if you wish. Our offerings this quarter go to Project Timothy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>WEEKLY FOLDER:<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Remember to empty all the papers on the Keep at Home side of the folder and look through them.\u00a0 Notes may get mixed in with corrected work depending on how your child places the papers.\u00a0 Also, notes may be time sensitive.\u00a0 Thanks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>ASSIGNMENT NOTEBOOK: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Please remember to check the assignment notebook each day and sign off at the bottom. Thanks. Some abbreviation clarifications are as follows:\u00a0 E= English, WW= Word Work, GW= God\u2019s Word, MW=Memory Work, H=handwriting, W= Writing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>FIELD TRIP: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We are excited to depart for Camp Phillip on Thursday.\u00a0 Our school day begins the same time as usual. However, we will not be leaving school right away, so your child needs to bring items along and into school except for the children of the chaperones.\u00a0 Their items may stay in the vehicle. Chaperones should park in the smaller east unless road construction prevents this. Enter through the office and come to the classroom.\u00a0 The plan is to leave by 9:30 a.m. and arrive by 11:00. There is a little wiggle room depending on traffic.\u00a0 We will leave camp by 12:30 p.m.. End of school day pick up and bussing will remain the same on Friday unless your child is involved with St. Stephen\u2019s Cross Country or has siblings involved.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Other Camp reminders:\u00a0 <\/b><b>Be sure to pack a sack lunch and beverage which we will<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>eat upon arrival at Camp Phillip.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Be sure to refer to the yellow list when packing.\u00a0 Remember, this time of year in Wisconsin the weather can be humid and hot, or cool, or both.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>If medication is needed, please be sure to send it with the medication form.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>There is a camp store that your child may visit before we leave.\u00a0 Various Camp Phillip themed items are available for purchase. (i.e. lanyards, CDs, mugs, disc golf frisbees, t shirts, sweatshirts to name a few)\u00a0 Prices vary and purchases are not necessary.\u00a0 Your child may be responsible for any money brought or you may give it to me.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>STUDENT COUNCIL: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fourth graders will be asked if they would like to participate in student council this year.\u00a0 If so, more information will be forthcoming.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>BEACH TOWEL: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Please send a bath towel or beach towel with your child by Wednesday, September 11.\u00a0 We will be using them during snack\/storytime next Wednesday.\u00a0 (You don\u2019t need to send it this week, but wanted to give a heads- up.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>CLASSROOM POSTER and BELIEF: Y<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ou will find the words on a poster I have in my classroom that reads:\u00a0 Fair isn&#8217;t everybody getting the sam thing&#8230;Fair is everybody getting what they need in order to be successful!\u00a0 If your child ever comes home and declares that so and so didn\u2019t have to do the same thing they did, or so and so has a different math book or reading book, or so and so was disciplined differently, please remind your child of this.\u00a0 We will talk about fairness in the classroom, but reinforcement at home will be greatly appreciated.\u00a0 It\u2019s usually easier for we adults to understand the concept of fair since we see how each of our own children are different from each other.\u00a0 Thank you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">God\u2019s blessings!!.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Karen Cooper<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello, We had a successful first week of school and survived the heat!
