\nWelcome to the first week of second grade! I pray you all had a blessed summer. I look forward to working
\nwith all of you to fill your children with knowledge and most importantly to grow their faith. Here are some
\nnotes for the week:
\n\u2605 Reminders:
\n\u25cb We have chapel every Monday. The money we give will go towards Luther Prep Project
\nTimothy. This is a project that sends high schoolers throughout the nation to help preach
\nGod\u2019s Word.
\n\u25cb There is an opening service at 8:15 am on the first day of school. We would love for you to join
\nus!
\n\u25cb This is a short week of school. We do not have school Tuesday, August 27, Friday, August 30
\nand Monday, September 2.
\n\u2605 Students will be bringing home a red folder every day. Please take out the papers that say keep at
\nhome. If it is in return to school, please return. These things will be field trips slips, project notes, or
\nuncompleted homework from school.
\n\u2605 Reading bookmarks
\n\u25cb On the return to school side of the folder, you may see a piece of paper with readings they
\nshould do at home. Please sign when finished. For example, it might say to read a short story
\nfrom the Superkids book on Monday. After reading it Monday, you would put your initials.
\n\u2605 Here\u2019s what we will be learning this week:
\n\u25cb Science we will learn about what is science and God\u2019s beautiful creation of earth and the
\nlandscapes..
\n\u25cb Math we will read and identify numbers to 100 right and left and identify one more and one
\nless than a number.
\n\u25cb Christ Light we will learn stories about the arrival of baby Jesus and Baby John the Baptist.
\n\u25cb Superkids we will learn different parts and types of sentences along with reading about the
\nsummers of the Supperkids friends while reviewing short and long vowel sounds.
\n\u25cb Music we will work on the expectations and procedures of Music Class.
