Good morning to all families of St. Stephen\u2019s.
\n<\/b>Lord\u2019s blessing to all as we look to start another school year.<\/span>
\n<\/span>On Sunday mornings, you will receive an email in this format.\u00a0 <\/span>
\n<\/span>It is a general news piece for all parents in K-8.\u00a0 (Important information, upcoming events, etc)<\/span>
\n<\/span>Please take time to read through these announcements and share information with your child as well.<\/span>
\n<\/span>Classroom pertinent announcements will either be sent home via a sheet of paper <\/span>
\n<\/span>or posted on the school website.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

First Day of School:<\/b>
\n<\/b>Children should arrive before 8:00 a.m. to prepare for the day.<\/span>
\n<\/b>Opening service is at 8:15 in church. All are invited\/encouraged to attend.<\/span>
\n<\/span>You could enter the building through door S1.\u00a0 This is the main office entry between the church and school on Maple Street.\u00a0 You could also enter the church through the ramp doors labeled E5.\u00a0 This is the parking lot off of West Street.\u00a0 Parents are more than welcome to visit the school in the morning before the chapel.\u00a0 Please consider joining us for our chapel service to begin the year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Singing Schedule:<\/b>
\n<\/b>Grades K-8 sing on Sunday, September 15.\u00a0 Worship that day will be at Lakeview Park in Beaver Dam starting at 10:00.\u00a0 Following worship will be our church picnic and welcome for new teachers.\u00a0 Please bring a dish to pass.\u00a0 The main meal will be provided.\u00a0 If it rains, worship will be at church with the meal to follow in the basement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Children\u2019s Choir is scheduled to sing September 29 at 9:00 at Good Shepherd.<\/span><\/p>\n

Worship Opportunities:<\/b>
\n<\/b>The Lord tells us, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the day approaching”\u00a0 (Hebrews 10:25). Every week we have the opportunity to grow our faith and relationship with our Savior.\u00a0 <\/span>
\n<\/span>Services at St. Stephen\u2019s are Thursday at 6:30pm, Sunday at 8am and 10am.\u00a0 <\/span>
\n<\/span>Bible class and Sunday School at 9:00am<\/span>
\n<\/span>Services at Good Shepherd are Wednesday at 7:00 pm and Sunday at 9am.\u00a0 <\/span>
\n<\/span>Bible class and Sunday School at 10:15am<\/span><\/p>\n

Kindergarten parents<\/b>:\u00a0 Please be sure that your child\u2019s immunization records are sent to school as soon as possible.\u00a0 If you have any questions, do not hesitate to email Mr. Schulz and he will help out.\u00a0 (<\/span>Principal@saintstephen.org<\/span>)<\/span><\/p>\n

Child pick up and drop off after 8:00 am:<\/b>
\n<\/b>If your child arrives after 8:00, they need to be dropped off in the office at door S1 and Mrs. Gensmer will get them to their classrooms.\u00a0 Any time you want to visit a child’s classroom for an extended period of time, please make arrangements with the teacher beforehand.\u00a0 Thank you.\u00a0 If you need to pick your child up due to appointments, illness, or any other non school related event, please go to the office (door S1) and speak with Mrs. Gensmer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Parking Lot Gates<\/b>:<\/span>
\n<\/span>The gates of our parking lot are closed at 8:00 and are usually opened by 3:00.\u00a0 We ask that parents that arrive early be patient if the gates are closed or the lot is being used for recess\/P.E.\u00a0 We also ask that you pull as far forward as possible and come to get your child from the marked area, especially if they are under 3rd grade.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Band lessons<\/b> will start next Wednesday, Sept 4.<\/span><\/p>\n

Piano lessons<\/b> will start on Tuesday, Sept 3<\/span><\/p>\n

Mission Collection:<\/b>
\n<\/b>Our first mission collection will already be at our opening service.\u00a0 If you would like to send an offering with your child, please put it into an envelope so we are aware of what it is for.\u00a0 The rest of the year, mission envelopes will be sent home with the children to place their offerings in.\u00a0 Our first quarter collection will be for Project Timothy.\u00a0 <\/span>Project Timothy began in 1993 as an effort to provide students with a ministry experience in a home or world mission field. The purpose of the program is to expose students to cross-cultural mission work, to enable students to gain personal experience in the work of a mission, and to provide them with positive encouragement to continue their training for public ministry. Project Timothy is also designed to assist mission congregations in their outreach programs.\u00a0 We set a goal of $500.00 for our first quarter goal that will go through October 18.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

No School:<\/b>
\n<\/b>Friday, August 30 or Monday, September 2 for the Labor Day holiday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Picture Day:<\/b>
\n<\/b>Picture day is scheduled for Monday, September 23.\u00a0 Emails will be automatically sent to families soon with ordering information.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Communication<\/b>:<\/span>
\n<\/span>There are 3 core ways information is shared at St. Stephen\u2019s.\u00a0 <\/span>
\n<\/span>Fastdirect<\/strong><\/span><\/a> will be the most used way to communicate daily with teachers. This will be for student progress and questions.\u00a0 It will also be a common way to set up appointments with your student\u2019s teacher.\u00a0 If you have issues with Fastdirect, please contact Mr. Schulz as soon as possible. <\/span>
\n<\/span>SSBDWELS.COM\/SCHOOL<\/a><\/strong> is the schools website.\u00a0 All classroom, athletic, school updates will be posted here for future reference.\u00a0 You will get email notifications when items are posted to the site.<\/span>
\n<\/span>OneCall is the way many emergency and mass notifications will be sent out.\u00a0 You could get a text, email, phone call, or all if the situation warrants.\u00a0 Weekly school updates are sent via this method.<\/span>
\n<\/span>All these methods are great, but personal interactions are always the best.\u00a0 Please, if there are concerns or comments you wish to make with your child\u2019s teacher, please work out a way to talk face-to-face.<\/span>

LLHS Lady Jr. Warriors:
\n<\/b>Registration Open: The Junior Lady Warriors basketball club is open to all girls attending grades 5-8 at one of our Lakeside Federation Lutheran elementary schools; note: 8th graders should have the desire to enroll at Lakeside for high school; club involvement is not intended to replace participation on Lutheran elementary school teams. Two Sunday tryout sessions have been scheduled at Lakeside: September 22 and September 29, 2024, both from 6-8 pm.
